Mentor/Mentee News

Greetings Dearborn Teachers,

We hope you had a great start of the new school year.

We would like to welcome our first, second, and third year teachers and their mentors.

We are excited to introduce the four Dearborn Lead Mentors who will be working closely with you to ensure that we are providing you with the support you need throughout the school year.

We are fortunate to have Hebat Abdelbaki, Hilda Irani, Robert Harrison, and Jill Marvaso on our team.  Four hard working and highly skilled individuals who will be able to assist and answer your questions.

Click here for our team contact information and feel free to send any questions at any time.  We promise a quick response.

We are in the process of developing the Mentor/Mentee guidelines/Roles/Responsibilities which will be shared during our first meeting on 10/13/16 from 4:10-5:25 at Michael Berry Career Center, 22586 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127.

Please subscribe to the School Improvement/Leadership Coaching Blog here where you will find valuable information and answers to your questions.

If you are a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year teacher and still do not have a mentor, please contact your administrator ASAP.

Sincerely,

Dearborn Teacher University Team

    • Dearborn’s Plan I requires a mentor teacher and all new teachers are on a Plan I regardless of their experience. If they received tenure in another district, then they will only need to be on Plan I for two years because they are only considered probationary for two others, so they only need a mentor for 2 years. If not tenured, then they are on PlanI for 5 years but only have a mentor for 3 years
